How a solar PV system works with solar panels, inverter, electrical system and utility grid

A solar PV system consists of interconnected components that work together to generate, convert, distribute, store, and monitor electrical energy. The exact equipment depends on whether the installation is on-grid, off-grid, or hybrid and on the specific requirements of the project.


Solar photovoltaic (PV) panels contain semiconductor cells that convert sunlight into direct-current (DC) electricity. Panels are installed on suitable roof, ground, or other mounting structures according to the site and system design.
